In the heart of Central Virginia, just east of Charlottesville and slightly north of Fluvanna County, Louisa offers access to Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, and Richmond. Lake Anna, a 13,000 acre lake in the eastern part of the county, is a major draw for boaters and fishermen and offers some of the best bass fishing in the state. The bluegrass scene heats up in the summer with a variety of festivals, including the Mineral Bluegrass Festival. The majority of the county’s 517 square miles are forest and agricultural. However, the business community is increasingly finding Louisa to be a convenient, low cost, and attractive location. With the addition of several shopping centers and Spring Creek (a mixed-use golf community), Zion Crossroads has been the center of the majority of Louisa’s business and residential growth over the last few years. Louisa features a variety of housing options, from rural land to new communities.
