Situated in the northwestern corner of Albemarle County, Earlysville is known for its rolling hills and pastoral setting. Earlysville began as a rural farming community in the 1800s and, compared to other parts of Albemarle County, not much has changed since then. You’ll still see country estates and historic farms throughout Earlysville. Although there has been some development in Earlysville, it’s not a place where you’ll see high density subdivisions. Neighborhoods like Earlysville Forest, Walnut Hills, and Hickory Ridge offer acre-plus home sites – and that’s about as dense as it gets. Other newer developments like Fray’s Grant and Indian Springs are comprised of multi-acre parcels along the beautiful countryside. The town of Earlysville includes a small grocery and a few local stores and restaurants. Even though Earlysville has a wonderfully rural feel, it has gained in popularity recently because of the nearby commercial growth along Route 29 in Northern Albemarle County. New shopping districts like the Hollymead Town Center, which includes major shopping chains and dining options, is located just a few miles from Earlysville. The Charlottesville airport is also just minutes away. Additional job growth in Northern Albemarle – including NGIC and the UVA Research Parks – has also increased Earlysville’s housing stock. So, if you are looking for a home in the Virginia countryside, but want to be minutes to the amenities of today, Earlysville may be for you.
